Doctors

There are three doctors in the partnership, occasionally there may also be a locum GP present. You may see whichever doctor you wish regardless of which one you are registered with, though it is better to stay with the same doctor through a course of treatment. When any doctor is not personally available you may speak to or see another doctor.

Dr Alistair Moulden

I returned to work in Knighton having worked in the surgery at the end of my medical degree at Keele University in 2013. I retrained in medicine later in life having previously worked in regional sales management in the wholesale food industry. Being in Knighton for four months was long enough for me to decide I wanted to come back. I have always wanted to work in rural general practice and my family and I enjoy the pace of life here in the borders. I previously played cricket for Meirionethshire as well as the university in Liverpool and still love the game. Since moving here, I have returned to playing bridge at the Radnorshire Bridge Club in Whitton where I can usually be found on the losing team most Thursday evenings. I also enjoy golf and have played at both Knighton and Kington; I can’t imagine two more different courses. I can’t read music but enjoy listening to it with a particular fondness for the music of Schubert. Although I am a Welsh speaker, I’m not often called upon locally but have done so on

Dr Antony Lempert

I gained my medical degree from Kings College, London in 1990 and became a member of the Royal College of GPs in 1994. I then worked for several years variously as a GP locum and as a staff grade doctor in accident and Emergency departments. I spent some months living and working in Romania on a rural healthcare project. I joined Wylcwm Street Surgery in 1999 and have been senior partner for the past few years. I am the practice child safeguarding lead and trained to fit and remove the contraceptive implant. I teach medical ethics to GPs in training in South Wales and I have an interest in medical politics, having been a longstanding BMA representative until very recently. I regularly cycle to and from work over the hills from my home in Bishops Castle. In my spare time, I enjoy amateur vegetable and fruit gardening, tennis and since 2008 have been the lead medical advisor to the (UK) National Secular Society which works to ensure that the care that patients receive best matches their own beliefs
